The Stock Market Game is real life, it is math and economics, it is critical thinking and skill development, and it is truly preparing students to be productive and successful in the future.
This session will provide a fundamentals of participation in the Nebraska Stock Market Game competition with a focus on using “teacher tools” found in the Stock Market Game teacher resource center. This lesson explores the effect of risk tolerance and diversity on trading.
The SMG is an online educational program used nationwide to help teach math, social studies, business, economics, and language skills while focusing on the importance of long term savings and investment. Students in grades 4-12 participate in teams and manage a $100,000 portfolio over 13 weeks making trades in real time. This program is offered in both spring and fall semesters during the school year.
